This past Monday, the Ontario government announced a province-wide shutdown from December 26th to January 23rd. This means that all locations of The Dragon will be closed to in-person shopping for that period.
I want to reassure you that we are in a solid position this time around. We were caught totally off-guard the first time and were not prepared. This time, thanks to your amazing support over the past few months, along with some strategic planning on our part, we are in a great position to weather this shutdown. So, don’t worry, we will still be here when it is safe to reopen! At that point, we will have a reopening sale to celebrate, and to make up for not having a post-Christmas sale.
What about Christmas returns? We are extending all Christmas returns until the end of February, in order to make exchanges as easy as possible for you.
During the shutdown, we are going to be kind to ourselves, scaling back operations to take a much needed mental and physical break. We will be available for curbside pickup twice a week and $5 local delivery twice a week at all our Dragon locations. During our "open" hours, we will be answering the phones, processing web, email, and Facebook orders, and delivering pre-paid purchases to your car for curbside pickup.
With the exception of new comics, which are coming each week whether we like it or not, we will not be bringing in new products or restocks during the shutdown. Right before we reopen, we will restock the shelves and bring in any special orders you might have. This is one of the ways we are making sure we get through this.
If you are a comic customer, please help us with our cash-flow. When you get your alert arrivals email, consider giving us a call or email and arranging for payment via Paypal, Square, eTransfer, or credit card over the phone. You don't have to physically pick them up, but paying for them would help us a lot. In fact, you can even set up a credit on your account that we can use to pay for your items as they arrive. Just give us a call or send us an email to make arrangements
